Ken Bowman
Ken Bowman
Director of Interior Design at ESa
As Director of Interior Design, Ken’s role is to serve our Interiors Department by helping to provide the tools and inspiration designers need to create dynamic, human-centered environments. Ken has over 25 years of professional experience in the interior design of healthcare, educational, hospitality, senior living, library and corporate office spaces. Ken earned his Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design from O’More College of Design (Franklin, TN), and joined ESa in 1990.
Ken loves getting to know new people, and has dedicated his career to the design of healing environments. His personal design philosophy seeks to find the point in a project where “the variable pieces of form, function, aesthetics, human well-being, adaptability and stewardship all intersect to create a beautiful, symphonic whole.” Ken, who was an accountant and business manager in his first career, believes that the best designs demonstrate successful “problem solving in a beautiful, functional solution that inspires.”
Ken is most inspired by spaces that seek to serve the whole person—physically, emotionally and spiritually—and exceed clients’ expectations. His greatest reward is to see our interior design staff (himself included) continually learn, grow and adapt to the ever-changing field of design in order to provide clients with creative, healthy, functional and inspirational environments. In his personal time, Ken enjoys spending time with family (especially his two grandsons), traveling, working in the lawn, cycling and hiking. He is also serves his “church family” by participating in a number of programs and serving in various leadership positions.
